The National Library Service for the Blind and Physically Handicapped (NLS), Library of Congress is presently converting from a cassette-based analog system to a digital system for audio book and magazine recording, distribution, and playback. NLS wishes to obtain the services of a firm to manufacture the DTB distribution medium, a flash memory cartridge on which Digital Talking Books (DTBs) will be sent to patrons. The solicitation (Request for Proposals) will be posted on FedBizOpps for viewing and printing on or about February 15, 2008. Offers will be due approximately 45 calendar days after the solicitation issue date.
