The Foreign Agriculture Service (FAS) office in the U.S. Embassy arranged a video conference on November 16 for students of Farragut Middle School in Knoxville, TN to interview a Polish bio-technology expert.  FAS invited Izabela Tanska, of IGI Food Consulting, an expert on bio-tech legislation in Poland, the EU and the United States, to discuss with the students why Poland wants to be a "GMO-free" (or Genetically Modified Organism free) country.  Ms. Tanska recently traveled to the United States under the auspices of the U.S. government's Borlaug Fellows Program to collect information for her PhD thesis.  The students from Knoxville asked Ms. Tanska a variety of questions about bio-tech in Poland and on current relations between Poland and the European Union.
