  • December 22 – A successful Production Readiness Review (PRR) was held for Screening and Targeting (S&T) Screening Foundation capabilities, called "S1."
  • December 8 – A successful Project Initiation and Authorization Review (PIRA) was held for Screening and Targeting (S&T) Targeting Foundation capabilities, called "S2 TF," and S&T Targeting Platform capabilities, called "S2 TP."
  • December 7 – The first electronic manifest (e-Manifest) for trucks was filed on the southern border by J.D. Transport at the port of Nogales, Arizona using an EDI. ( Electronic Truck Manifest Information )

  • November 18 – ACE deployed at Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan

  • November 10 – A successful Preliminary Design Review (PDR) was held for the first two stages of Entry Summary, Accounts and Revenue features, called "A1" and "A2."
  • October 24 – Federal Register Notice Vol. 70, No. 204, FR Doc. 05-21165 CBP announced the creation of non-portal accounts for importers wishing to participate in ACE without establishing ACE Secure Data Portal accounts. In addition, this notice announced the creation of non-portal accounts for all importers who are certified partners in the voluntary Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), and are not already holders of ACE portal accounts. This enables all C-TPAT importers to use ACE monthly account statement and payment capabilities. ( ACE Federal Register Notices )
  • October 14 – Federal Register Notice Vol. 70, No. 198, FR Doc. 05-20579 CBP announced the implementation of automated truck manifest to be deployed at the following ports in the State of Michigan, no earlier than the dates indicated (all in the year 2005): Windsor Tunnel, October 4; Barge Transport, October 5; Ambassador Bridge, October7; Port Huron, October 14; Marine City, October 18; Algonac, October 18; and Sault St. Marie, October 28.   • August 8 – Federal Register Notice Vol. 70, No. 151, FR Doc. 05-15571 announced three changes designed to ease the periodic monthly payment process: 1) The pay period was extended from the 15th calendar day, to the 15th working day of the month; 2) Automatic liquidated damages claims were eliminated for certain types of late payments; and 3) The ability to include entries containing certain Census warnings on Periodic Daily Statements was added.   • July 29 – Federal Register Notice Vol. 70 No. 145, FR Doc. 05-15046 announced, in conjunction with the Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, the implementation of ACE in the states of Arizona and North Dakota. ( ACE Federal Register Notices )
  • July 25 – ACE deployed at Nogales, Arizona.
  • July 22 – Payment of duties and fees through the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) monthly statement and payment capability topped $1 billion.
  • July 21 – ACE deployed at Sasabe, Arizona.
  • July 20 – ACE deployed at Lukeville, Arizona.
  • July 19 – ACE deployed at Naco, Arizona.
  • July 18 – ACE deployed at Douglas, Arizona.
  • July 15–The first anniversary of the first monthly account statements.
  • July 1 – The CBP Office of Information and Technology (OIT) reorganization took effect. Functions within the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Modernization Office were streamlined and integrated into other OIT offices, including the newly created Cargo Systems Program Office and the Targeting Systems Office
  • June21 – ACE deployed at Metaline Falls, Washington.
  • June 20 – ACE deployed at the ports in Boundry and Frontier, Washington
  • June 15 – ACE deployed at the ports of Danville, Ferry, and Laurier in Washington
  • June 13 – ACE deployed at Oroville, Washington
  • May 31 – Federal Register Notice (FRN) Vol. 70, No. 103, FR Doc. 05-10700 announced modifications to the ACE deployment schedule. As of June 1, 2005, the next sites will be deployed in geographic clusters with one port in the cluster identified as the "model site" for the cluster. ( ACE Federal Register Notices )
  • May 28 – New system enhancements were added to the ACE Secure Data Portal to improve portal navigation, enhance editing/reporting abilities, provide new automation and views for truck carriers, and provide improved screening and targeting features.
  • May 15 – Amount of duties and fees paid using the ACE periodic payment feature topped $700 million since introduction of the capability in June 2004.

  • April 29 – New Selectivity Foundation features successfully met criteria of design and pilot test readiness reviews.
  • April 29 – ACE deployed at Point Roberts, Washington.
  • April 26 – The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) of the U.S. Department of the Treasury became a participating International Trade Data System (ITDS) member. More than 20 other federal agencies with missions tied to international trade and transportation are participating in the ITDS program. ( International Trade Data System )
  • April 26 – ACE deployed at Lynden, Washington.
  • April 23 – ACE deployed at Sumas, Washington.
  • April 14 – Pilot of the electronic manifest (e-Manifest): Trucks capability and the first ACE port deployment at Blaine was completed. Widespread operational use of ACE at the ports and the e-Manifest: Trucks capability was approved. ( Electronic Truck Manifest Information )
  • March 28 - Additional capabilities added to Targeting Framework prototype at the National Targeting Center (NTC). New features included: Cargo Sweep for Inbound, which provides a risk rating for cargo coming into the United States on ships; Cargo Sweep for Outbound, which provides a risk rating for cargo being exported out of the United States on ships. The prototype upgrade also consolidated all Microsoft Access databases into a central repository for viewing and analysis.
