  • The number of males arrested in the Nation's suburban areas increased 0.7 percent in 2005 compared with the 2004 data; the number of male juveniles (under 18 years of age) arrested fell 3.2 percent during this time period.
  • The number of females arrested rose 1.5 percent in 2005 compared with the 2004 data; the number of juvenile females arrested fell 3.5 percent.
  • For murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, the number of males arrested increased 6.5 percent in 2005 compared with the 2004 data, and the number of females arrested rose 13.6 percent.
  • The number of juvenile males arrested for murder and nonnegligent manslaughter in 2005 increased 11.0 percent compared with the 2004 data, and the number of juvenile females increased 111.0 percent.
