Research Experience

• PostDoc Research Associate,  Los Alamos National Laboratory, NM.  2006 -- present.
  • Analyzed  Hepatitis C virus (HCV) kinetics in patients under the pegylated interferon (PEG-IFN) therapy.
  • Developed a mathematical model of HCV dynamics under PEG-IFN therapy and improved the accuracy of parameter estimation.
• Research Fellow,  Kyushu University, Fukuoka, Japan.  2004 -- 2006.
  • Collaborated with an experimental research group headed by Dr. Akihiko Yoshimura (Medical Institute of Bioregulation, Kyushu University, Japan) and analyzed the structure of JAK/STAT signal transduction pathway.
  • Studied the Optimal Control of the acquired immune response.

Mentoring Experience

• 2003.  Mentored an undergraduate student (Mr. Yoshida, Mathematical biology group, Kyushu University, Japan).
  • Thesis:  Guarding behavior of insects: Evolutionarily optimal strategy (written in Japanese).

Teaching Experience

• 2005.  Taught on mathematical biology at Kyushu University, Japan.  Forty undergraduate students in biology department were involved.
