Ribbon Cutting Celebrates Official Opening for Indianapolis Hiring Center and 80 New Federal Jobs in the Region

Ralph Basham and State Representative Phil Hinkle (R-Indianapolis), along with Assistant Commissioner for Human Resources Management Robert Hosenfeld officially opened the Indianapolis Hiring Center on Thursday, June 5, before a gathering of Hiring Center employees, invited guests and members of the public.The ribbon cutting celebration provided an opportunity to see first-hand, the federal Intech complex, which features the Indianapolis Hiring Center, Indianapolis Office of Finance and other facets of CBP operations.“Dedicating the new Indianapolis Hiring Center represents a proud moment for U.S. Customs and Border Protection,” said Commissioner Basham. “This Center brings 80 new federal jobs to the Indianapolis area, and it will process the nearly 200,000 applications CBP receives each year.”The Center will also support and provide services to all offices within CBP, the nation’s largest law enforcement agency, which has over 50,000 employees.The ribbon cutting ceremony offered visitors and guests a first-hand opportunity to see a portion of the technology and equipment that CBP and partnering agencies employ to fulfill the mission of securing our nation’s borders and ports of entry, with a close up look at an EC-120 helicopter, CBP boat, various patrol vehicles and other displays.Another featured item was a newly issued Immigration and Customs Enforcement command vehicle.On-Site Recruiting Also on hand for the day was a team of national recruiters who provided information on CBP’s civilian and law enforcement career opportunities.Recruiters advertised several Indianapolis job openings such as Accountant, Financial Program Specialist, Accounting Technician, and Lead Staff Accountant, which will soon post on the federal jobs on the USAJobs website.
