Description: Profile of lodgepole pine dwarf mistletoe (Arceuthobium americanum Nutt. ex Engelm.) which is a native, parasitic, seed plant that occurs essentially through-out the range of lodgepole pine in North America. It is the most damag-ing disease agent in lodgepole pine, causing severe growth loss and increased tree mortality. Surveys in the Rocky Mountains show that the parasite is found in one- to two-thirds of commercial lodgepole pine stands.
