La Crosse, Wisconsin Receives $1.1 Million in Federal Funds

Madison, WI -- U.S. Assistant of Commerce for Economic Development Sandy K. Baruah today presented a $1 mission Economic Development Administration (EDA) investment check to LaCrosse County, the La Crosse County Economic Development Administration Village of WEst SAlem, WI. The investment check will help expand the Lakeview Business Park in the Village of West Salem and is expected to create 110 jobs and generate $30.9 million in private investment.

“America's competitiveness and innovation flourish in vibrant, economically growing communities that are opportunities," said Baruah. "This investment in La Crosse County will help generate a commercial environment that will assist entrepreneurs, businesses and capital."

EDA serves as a venture capital resource to meet the economic development needs of distressed communities in the United States. EDA's mission is to lead the federal economic development agenda by promoting innovation and competitive American regions for growth and success in the worldwide economy.
