On February 24, 2008, the Ramey Sector Recruitment Office will sponsor “The World’s Best 10K Race,” a 10-kilometer run held in San Juan, Puerto Rico each year. The race has been ranked among the 20 most competitive races in the world. It is certified by the Association of International Marathons and Road races as well as the International Amateur Athletic Federation (IAAF).

In addition to the race, a Fitness Festival will be held on February 22-23 inside the Roberto Clemente Coliseum. Border Patrol recruiters will be present, assisted by CBP Explorers, who will pass out informational materials and incentive items. A team of Border Patrol agents will participate in the race.

Of the more than 10,000 road races in the world, the IAAF recognizes with its Gold Label rating only eight marathons, three-half marathons and one 10-kilometer race - the World’s Best 10K.
