NASA/ARC has a requirement for a Particle Size Analyzer; Microtrac, model S3550.The particle size analyzer needs to have the following features: Wet and dry measurementcapabilities, Must be capable of analyzing particles in a range of 2000 0.021micrometers under wet conditions, Must be capable of analyzing particles in a range of2000 0.243 micrometers under dry conditions, Must operate by laser light scatteringmethod. Particle Size Analyzer should include Ultra small volume Recirculator, and DellComputer system.NASA/ARC intends to purchase the items from Microtrac, Inc 12501A 62nd Street NorthLargo, FL 33773. Microtrac, Inc., is the only source identified that meets all of NASA'srequirements.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 12:30 p.m. local timeon July 31, 2008. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.An Ombudsman has been appointed.
