Border Patrol Explorer Post to Host Golf Tournament

contacts for this news releaseYuma, Ariz. – The U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Border Patrol’s Wellton Station Explorer Post will host its first ever golf tournament at the Coyote Wash Golf Course in Wellton, Ariz. on November 10, 2007.The Wellton Border Patrol Explorer Post #246, is a non-profit worksite-based program for young men and women who are interested in careers in the field of law enforcement. The Border Patrol Explorer Post helps youth to gain insight into a variety of programs which offer hands-on career activities that promote the growth and development of adolescent youth.The golf tournament is a fund raiser for the Wellton Border Patrol Explorer Post and proceeds from the event will help in the acquisition of supplies, uniforms, and other items needed for the program.The golf tournament will follow a "four-man scramble" format and will feature a 60-point minimum handicap per team. Cost for the tournament is $65 per person and includes lunch and entry into a raffle for cash and prizes. Interested parties may contact Supervisory Border Patrol Agent J.D.
