Roan Cliffs (NOSR)
HIGHLIGHTS
Area includes rolling hills above the Roan Cliffs northwest of Rifle and is covered with aspen/spruce forest and rolling grass meadows. The panoramic views from the edge of the Roan Cliffs are incredible.

ACCESS
Go north on Highway 13 about 18 miles to Rio Blanco and turn west about 5 miles on to the Cow Creek Road. Turn south on this road and travel about 15 miles into the area. An alternate access is to go north of Rifle on Highway 13 about 3 miles and turn on the JQS road. Caution, the JQS road is narrow, steep and may be blocked by rockslides. It is very slippery when wet, but the scenic views are outstanding.

LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY
All trails follow the numerous jeep trails, so depending on what jeep trails you choose, determines the level of difficulty.

DISTANCE/ELEVATION
Roads are variable in distance. Elevations ranges from 8,000 to 9,000 feet.
