Abstract:
- All species predicted distribution maps
are predictions about the occurrence of a
species within a particular area.
-
Purpose:
- The purpose of the GAP vertebrate
species maps is to provide more precise
information about the current predicted
distribution of individual native species
within their general ranges. With this
information, better estimates can be made
about the actual amounts of habitat area
and the nature of its configuration. By
combining this with land stewardship
information the amount of a species habitat
that is being managed for conservation can
be determined.
