Border Patrol Agents Find Marijuana Hidden Under Truck’s Trap Door

Del Rio, Texas – U.S. Customs and Protection Border Patrol agents assigned to the Del Rio, Texas station yesterday seized nearly 300 pounds of marijuana, valued at more than $230,000.Around 2 p.m. Wednesday, at an immigration checkpoint north of Del Rio, a detector dog alerted to a 2001 Ford Truck. The driver was referred to a secondary inspection area where agents discovered a cut-out trap door leading to a hidden compartment containing 77 bundles of marijuana.The driver, a 32-year-old U.S. citizen, was arrested.The subject and contraband were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
