11250100 MILLERTON LAKE AT FRIANT, CA

LOCATION.-Lat 37°00'00", long 119°42'13", in SW 1/4 SW 1/4 sec.5, T.11 S., R.21 E., Fresno County, Hydrologic Unit 18040006, near center 
  of Friant Dam on San Joaquin River just upstream from Cottonwood Creek, 0.9 mi northeast of Friant. 
DRAINAGE AREA.-1,638 mi2. 
PERIOD OF RECORD.-October 1941 to current year. Monthend contents only for some periods, published in WSP 1315-A. 
GAGE.-Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is sea level (levels by U.S. Bureau of Reclamation). Prior to May 29, 1944, nonrecording gage on 
  left bank at same datum. 
REMARKS.-Reservoir is formed by gravity-type concrete dam with spillway near center, completed in December 1942. Control valves installed 
  in February 1944, and spillway gates installed in November 1947. Usable capacity, 503,200 acre-ft between elevations 375.4 ft, invert of river 
  outlet, and 578.0 ft, top of drum-type spillway gates. Not available for release, 17,400 acre-ft. Millerton Lake is one of the storage units in the 
  Central Valley Project. Records, including extremes, represent total contents at 2400 hours. See schematic diagram of lower San Joaquin River 
  Basin.
