Description: Perennial herb, mostly with-out hairs. Stems 1-2 feet (3-6dm) long. Leaves 3 1/2 - 7 inches (9-18cm) long, with 19-29 spear-shaped to pear-shaped leaflets, 3/8-6/8 inches (1-2cm) long. Inflorescence is a loose raceme (unbranched with flowers opening from top to bottom) attached to a stem 4-8 inches (1-2dm) long, containing 18-25 flowers. Petals are whitish, with uppermost petal (banner) 1/2-5/8 inches long. Fruit is a sessile (attached directly) football-shaped pod, 3/4-1 1/8 inches (2-3cm) long, and 3/8-3/4 inches (10-20mm) wide. 

Distribution:

Habitat: Dry hillsides, burns, open shrubby slopes. Elevation 800-1000 feet.

Flowering Period: Blooms February - May.
