As you are probably aware of, the American Institute of Aeronautics and
<br>
Astronautics (AIAA) publishes a "Year-in-Review" issue at the
end of <br>
every calendar year, highlighting advances in each of the scientific
areas <br>
covered by AIAA Technical Committees. Many thanks to those
who<br>
submitted statements last year. I am again writing the article this
year and<br>
am soliciting summary statements from each of you, if you feel your
findings<br>
over the past year are appropriate for the article. <br><br>
NOTE: You can make my job much easier by sending me <br>
<b>BRIEF</b> statements of the highlights of your lab's, university's,
<br>
company's, or organization's current contributions in MDO.<br><br>
How Brief? We have 600 words TOTAL. So, if 30 people submit something
<br>
(a low estimate), that is only <b>20 WORDS</b> per person. So, please
send <b>1-2 <br>
SENTENCES</b> summarizing your contributions this year to me via email.
<br>
You are welcome/encouraged to send me an accompanying paragraph to let me
<br>
know the context of your submission, but the one or two sentence
submission <br>
will let me know the specifics of what you have in mind, and will allow
<br>
me to make diverse submissions flow together.<br><br>
Please <b>DO NOT</b> send entire papers, long dialogues, or even extended
<br>
abstracts. It will be very easy to incorporate short statements into the
<br>
paper, but very difficult to compress long submissions into 1-2
sentences. I may not <br>
even do the work justice or represent it appropriately. So, please submit
<br>
your advancements as close to how you would like it to be to represented.
<br>
I will do my best to make it fit.<br><br>
ILLUSTRATION: We also wish to include one illustration in <br>
the article, a photograph relevant to MDO if possible. I would very
<br>
much appreciate your suggestion/submission.<br><br>
DEADLINE: I need ALL submissions by next SEPTEMBER 1st. After this date,
<br>
submissions will most likely not be used. I will send out an email
reminder in August.<br><br>
