CONGRESSWOMAN JOHNSON ANNOUNCES SIGNIFICANT HUD GRANTS FOR DALLAS METROPLEX

Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnston today announced that the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded the City of Dallas and Dallas County with more than $36 million dollars in Federal Grants.

“These HUD grants fund programs vitally important to the people of Dallas and all of Dallas County,” Congresswoman Johnson said. “They provide an important source of support for economic development, housing and shelter for the homeless. The City of Dallas has used these funds effectively to meet critical needs for many populations within the greater Dallas community.”

The Grants are broken down into several initiatives and include the highly coveted Community Development Block Grant, which will have a significant impact on the greater Dallas area. The total CDBG grant award for the City of Dallas is $20,475,66. Dallas County has been awarded $2,359, 986.
