U.S. Senator Richard Shelby (R-AL), released the following statement on the death of Coretta Scott King:

Senator Shelby said, “I was saddened to learn of Coretta Scott King’s death. She was a native Alabamian who showed courage and determination as a civil-rights pioneer. After Dr. King’s death, she continued to work tirelessly to ensure equality and justice for all Americans. Like her husband, Mrs. King’s legacy will be revered for generations to come.”
