Border Patrol Agents Rescue Hunter Near Van Horn, Texas

Marfa, Texas – Border Patrol agents from the Marfa Sector’s Van Horn station were able to locate a missing hunter during a snow storm Saturday.About 10 p.m. Border Patrol agents were notified by the Culberson County Sheriff’s Office that a hunter had last been seen by friends about 10 hours earlier south of Van Horn. After searching for almost four hours, agents located him about 2 a.m. Sunday.The Big Springs, Texas man was in good health and declined medical attention. Border Patrol agents took the man back to his camp. U.S. Customs and Border Protection is the unified border agency within the Department of Homeland Security charged with the management, control and protection of the nation’s borders at and between the official ports of entry. CBP is charged with keeping terrorists and terrorist weapons out of the country while enforcing hundreds of U.S. laws.
