. short term ... 1st few visible satellite pix show s edge of thick fog
bank extending from s of sauf1 to the w side of jax to near khoe. a
loop of the imagery shows the fog retreating n. in fact ... 12z kjax
sounding has winds just above the surface at around 20 kts. as a
result ... should see visibility improvements from the s as thickest
fog is scoured out and late winter sun warms the low layers of the
atmosphere thru breaks in low overcast. with plenty of low - level
moisture ... today will not be sunny by any means ... but should start
to see breaks in cloud cover thru the day. have adjusted cloud
cover gridded forecast a bit ... but no major changes to forecast.
will need to update zfp when dense fog advisory expires ... and will
be able to remove mention of fog from most zones at this time.
may need to extend dense fog advisory a bit longer over se ga...
will continue to closely monitor obs.

. aviation ... ceilings and visibilities will remain tricker thru the
remainder of the morning in the jax area ... and possibly into early
afternoon at kssi. kgnv has improved to vfr ... altho may see a
return to mvfr later as a fairly decent cu field is expected to
persist.

. marine ... dense fog over cool shelf waters will be last to be
scoured out by s flow above the surface. later expiration time
for this advisory is a good bet. may need to extend a bit longer
for se ga waters. frontal position and fog will continue to
necessitate several zone groupings ... but ... other than for fog...
no headlines expected.

ga ... dense fog advisory until 10 am this morning for coastal
camden - coastal glynn - inland camden - inland glynn.
