What's new in SpecsIntact version 3.1.325, including enhancements and corrections since version 3.1.312:

1. Improved Software Stability and Performance

The SpecsIntact software is now more stable, as several problems that could cause it to fail have been corrected. Some of these problems are described in more detail below.

2. Prompt to Enable Macros For WordSpec Use

SpecsIntact will now prompt WordSpec users in Word 2000 and later versions to enable macros by setting the security settings to be no higher than medium. Disable this prompt by checking the option "Don't show this box again."

3. Shift Delete Function Accessible via Right-Click Menu

The SpecsIntact Editor now permits the deletion of any tagged information by positioning immediately in front of the beginning tag (tags must be visible), and then selecting the 'Delete...' menu option available at the bottom of the right-click menu. This same functionality is already available in previous versions of the Editor using the Shift-Delete keyboard shortcut.

4. Improved Editor Processing of Files with more Than 10,000 Lines

Editing files with more than 10,000 lines (about 200 pages) will no longer cause the SpecsIntact Editor to fail. Also, attempting to page to the bottom of such a large document by pressing the 'Ctrl' and 'End' keys simultaneously will now work correctly. Please note, however, that the Editor cannot yet correctly process files with more than 32,767 lines (about 545 pages). This problem will be corrected in an upcoming release of the SpecsIntact software.

5. Mouse Movement beyond the End of a Document Supported

The SpecsIntact Editor will no longer fail in some cases when the mouse is moved across the screen beyond the end of a document.

6. WordSpec Interface Improved

Numerous WordSpec functions have been corrected, including handling of the Note (NTE), Section Reference (SRF), Hyperlink (URL), Organization Address (OAD), and Submittal (SBM) styles, as well as the designation of a Submittal Key (SUB) as requiring government approval (indicated by a 'G').

7. WordSpec Conversion Corrected

WordSpec will more accurately convert a number of document styles to and from SpecsIntact format, including those for ending subparts (SPT), Notes (NTE), Submittals (SBM), Dates (DTE), Centering tags (HL4), and Text and List paragraphs (TXT and LST), both within Submittals and when using special indentation amounts.

8. Section File Name Corrected during WordSpec Conversion

WordSpec will no longer add an extra period between the Section number and file extension ('.sec') when converting Sections to SI format. This will correct problems where SpecsIntact could not locate Section files following conversion from WordSpec.

9. Reference Manager Correctly Copies Reference Titles to Clipboard

The Reference Manager will now correctly copy a Reference Title from the Reference Details dialog box to the Windows Clipboard for use in Applications other than SpecsIntact.

10. Printing Processed Section Tables of Contents

SpecsIntact now permits the printing of previously processed Section tables of contents without also printing the processed Sections. To do this, select the desired previously processed tables of contents from the "Processed Files" folder, and then select 'Print.'

Please note, however, that attempts to print different selected Sections and Section tables of contents from the "Processed Files" folder will always print the tables of contents and Section files for all the selected files. That is, attempting to print 01234.PRN and 15555.TOC will cause the printing of four separate files (if they exist): 01234.PRN, 01234.TOC, 15555.PRN, and 15555.TOC.

11. Saving RTF Documents in the RTF Editor Works Consistently

Attempting to save an RTF document using the RTF editor will no longer cause SpecsIntact to fail.
