Enterprise Transition Plan

March 2008 Congressional Report

Integrated Data Environment (IDE) / Global Transportation Network (GTN) Convergence (IGC)

Description and Objective

IGC will establish common integrated data services to enable development of applications which will provide the COCOMS, Services, the DOD, and other Federal agencies a cohesive solution for the management of supply, distribution, and logistics information with a global perspective. This will create a single location between DLA and USTRANSCOM for consistent access to common, authoritative data, business standards, and information.

Approach

A new program office has been established to unify logistics/distribution/transportation visibility efforts between DLA’s Integrated Data Environment (IDE) initiative and USTRANSCOM’s Global Transportation Network program (GTN), with the goal of eliminating redundancy, streamlining access to data and optimizing resources.

Benefits

IGC will increase logistics information sharing across the DOD and provide better E2E visibility.
