The four week clerkship in Aerospace Medicine is offered semiannually during the months of April and October at the JSC. The clerkship involves formal lectures on space medicine topics, exposure to human testing operations, and familiarization with the medical aspects of Space Shuttle operations and Space Station design and function. The clerkship also involves a research project in a current area of space medicine focus in which the student has interest. A written research report and presentation are required. | Contact:

Participants work for up to 2 years at the appropriate field center. At JSC, participants work primarily in space sciences, life sciences and engineering. Participants have a professional travel budget to help them disseminate results and are encouraged to publish in peer-reviewed publications. | Contact:

This program is located only at the Johnson Space Center in partnership with members of the University of Houston system. Participants spend 2-3 years in this program, dividing their time between research activities at JSC (70%) and educational activities at UH (30%). Participants work at JSC in space sciences, life sciences, engineering, safety/reliability, computer science, and other areas. Representative organizations at UH include, but are not limited to, the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, Conrad N. Hilton College of Hotel and Restaurant Management, College of Optometry, College of Pharmacy, Texas Center for Superconductivity, the Cullen College of Engineering, and the College of Natural and applied Sciences at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. | Contact:
