Decree 4324 of 6 August 2002 establishes that the resources for research and development mentioned in article 1 of Law 9992 of 24 July 2000 shall be deposited in the "Fundo Nacional de Desenvolvimento Cientifico e Tecnologico" (FNDCT) [National Fund for Scientific and Technological Development], in category of specific program known as CT-TRANSPORTE, and will be used to finance programs and projects of scientific research and technological development in the area of land and waterways transportation.
