ST MEETING 5 July, Forecast for 6 July - DOY 187 ST meeting 0705 Saturday Dear Trish The ST (basically Jost) would like to repeat the clear LAGRANGIAN. We contacted Sagres and they confirmed readiness. Today, apart from the meteo, also the ARAT had problems with their LIDAR which are now solved. The ship should be at 36N30' 10W00' by 0900Z tomorrow Sunday. Balloon will be released at 0700Z if the sounding of 0630Z shows no low BL. The ship should stay around the position till 1200Z after which it should sail 38N00' 12W00' which we expect will be in the northerly airmass. We would like to have data from the ship, on Monday morning, about aerosol and pollution levels in the Gibraltar airmass and the Northerly airmass. This would be helpful in planning where to perform the polluted CLOUDYCOLM on Monday and Tuesday. Watch out for special features (nucleation?) when going from one airmass into the other. By the way. Is Tim still alive? Give him my regards. Frank ST meeting 0705 Saturday Meteo outlook DAY N+1, N+2: Both days: Upper levels: small relative low over Canaries, with variable winds.
