Annotation: The primary focus of this newsletter is the outline for the 100th international training course on "The Institutional Treatment of Offenders: Relationships with Other Criminal Justice Agencies and Current Problems in Administration."
Abstract: The course identified problems that administrators in charge of correctional institutions should solve and explored methods for solving them. It also identified problems whose solutions require the understanding and cooperation of the police, prosecution, judiciary, and others, and suggested ways to resolve them. Further, the course identified problems in strengthening cooperation with agencies involved in the non-institutional treatment of offenders; ways were suggested for resolving them. The titles of individual presentation papers are listed in the newsletter, along with the topics of lectures by visiting experts. The procedure for the group workshops is explained. Information is also provided on observation visits, fieldwork, special events, visiting experts, participants, and the reference materials distributed. The agenda and participants are presented for the celebration ceremony for the training course, and session themes are presented for the joint seminar held in Pakistan, March 12-16, 1995. The topic was "The Contemporary Issues Concerning Criminal Justice: A Comparative Study." Also included in the newsletter are information about future courses and administrative news.
