What materials (and how many) were handed out at the event, if any?
I used material from Night Sky's Passport Through Time program - one of the first kits put out and one of the best. A listing of objects viewed was given to the six adults so that they might discuss the viewing with their boy.

Comments or interesting anecdotes about the event:
I was asked to do this viewing by a friend of my son who has a cub scout den in the nearby town of Bristol RI. 6 eight year old cub scouts and 6 fathers turned up. It was only 20°F last night, and we all crammed into the observatory for shelter. We started by viewing Venus through cloud but had clear sky for 4 Vega, M31, M35 and M37. At that point the kids succumb to restlessness and the 20° temperature. Feedback from the den leader - he quoted his son as saying "that was the best thing we have done with the Cub Scouts yet" and added that the Cubs had done lots of cool stuff!
