Heliospheric Physics Laboratory - NASA's GSFC, Code 672

About the Lab

The Heliospheric Physics Laboratory leads in the exploration of the heliosphere through the development of instruments and models designed to determine the origin and evolution of the solar wind, low energy cosmic rays, and the interaction of the Sun's heliosphere with the local interstellar medium.

The Laboratory also leads in the design and implementation of unique multi-mission and multi-disciplinary data services to strategically advance NASA's solar-terrestrial program and our understanding of the Sun-Earth system.

The HPL is based at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, MD U.S.A. It is a component of the Heliophysics Science Division in Goddard's Sciences & Exploration Directorate . The Facility is headed by Dr. Adam Szabo.
