An EDR record on disk. Each EDR file begins with a PDS label followed by an EDR file header and EDR line records for at most 1 RIM of data. A new file is created upon telemetry format or instrument mode changes. Missing data within a record is zero filled. There is no filler for missing records. The number of PWS data blocks in each of up to 91 records is dependent on the telemetry format and instrument mode. The length of the records are fixed for a given file but may be different between files depending on the telemetry format and instrument mode. The details are described in the document "PWS EDR Software Interface Specification".(232-09)
A standard VICAR format. The following information describes the first output : It does not have a binary label. All the information will be carried in the history label. Each output file can hold up to 91 minor frames of PWS data or 13 minor frames in the case of telemetry modes PW4, PW8, instrument modes 1 and 2. The output file consists of records of constant length. The record length of output file varies depending on the telemetry mode and instrument mode. The details are described in the following table : +----------------+---------------+--------------------+------------------------ | Telem mode | Inst mode | Output rec len | Max number of lines | +----------------+---------------+--------------------+------------------------ | HPW/HRW 1,2 1024 | 910 | | HPW/HRW 3 512 | 364 | | PW4 1 512 | 416 | | PW4 2 512 | 1040 | | PW4 3 512 | 364 | | PW8 1 512 | 416 | | PW8 2 1024 | 1040 | | PW8 3 512 | 364 | | HCJ/HPJ 1,2 128 | 910 | | HCJ/HPJ 3 512 | 364 | | XPW/XRW 1,2 512 | 910 | | XPW/XRW 3 512 | 364 | | MPP 1,2 256 | 910 | | MPP 3 512 | 364 | | MPW 1,2,3 128 | 910 | +-----------------------------------------------------+------------------------ The second output contains 1 line, 91 Integer*4 samples. It contains the Antenna switch position for each MOD91: 0 represents Antenna switch E, 1 represents Antenna switch B, 2 represents Unknown.
This variable identifies the spectrogram number being processed. For telemetry modes PW4, PW8, instrument modes 1 and 2, each output file contains 13 minor frames. It takes 7 spectrograms to represent 1 rim of data.
For telemetry modes PW4, PW8, instrument modes 1 and 2, each output file contains 13 minor frames. It takes 7 spectrograms to represent 1 rim of data. If all data for a given spectrogram are missing, the spectrogram will not be processed. The program will output a variable in TAE to identify this case.
