In less than 2 months, the aerospace industry and the world will convene in Dayton, Ohio to celebrate the Wright brothers first powered flight and the century of achievement that has followed ­ as well as lay the groundwork for the next 100 years of innovation at the International Air & Space Symposium and Exposition: The Next 100 Years, 14­17 July 2003.

Organized by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and the International Council of the Aeronautical Sciences (ICAS), the symposium is just one of the many programs in the Evolution of Flight Campaign, AIAA¹s global initiative to commemorate the centennial of flight and to enhance the understanding of the contributions to society made by all facets of the aerospace community. The Campaign is supported by leaders in the industry, including, The Boeing Company, GE Aircraft Engines, Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Pratt & Whitney, Raytheon, Rockwell Collins, Snecma, Parker Hannifin, Flight International, Aviation Week, and the U.S. Centennial of Flight Commission.

The four-day program will address technical breakthroughs and policy/operational issues pertaining to commercial aviation, military aviation, general aviation and space. Daily morning plenary sessions will feature world leaders from each of these areas, giving attendees a first-hand look at what the future may hold and how a common vision is being formulated. The afternoon program, comprised of over 150 technical sessions, will focus on advances in aerospace education, aerospace policy, air cargo delivery, aviation safety, flight crew training, International Space Station, interorbital transportation, nanoscience and technology, the Next Generation Aerospace Initiative, Orbital Space Plane, personal air transportation, propulsion systems, public space travel, reusable launch vehicles, rotorcraft technology, solar system exploration, systems architecting, unmanned space platforms, unmanned vehicles, Wright Flyer research, and much more more! Hundreds of aerospace leaders representing Australia, Asia, Europe, and North and South America, and 500 top executives and researchers from government, industry, and academia will also participate.
