Abstract The CASTOR was built by Verolme at their Heusden Shipyard in the Netherlands for KNSM-Kroonburgh BV. It is a single-screw cellular containership designed with raised forecastle deck carrying the accommodation deckhouse and bridge and has its engine room aft. General-arrangement drawings are given. Principal particulars are: propulsion Stork Werkspoor 12TM410 length overall 140.10 length between perpendiculars 131.60 m breadth moulded 21.50 m depth moulded to main deck 10.90 m draught, design 6.80 m draught, scantling 7.00 m tonnage, deadweight 1.,345 t speed, service 16 knots container capacity 908 TEU crew 14
