Representative Robert E. Andrews
New Jersey — First Congressional District
Message of the Day

REP. ANDREWS COMMEMORATES ONE MONTH
ANNIVERSARY OF SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 ATTACKS
October 11, 2001

Today, I attended a memorial service at the Pentagon to honor the memory of the brave men and women who gave their lives serving their country during the attacks on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.  As the Nation, continues to mourn the loss of so many American men and women one month after these attacks occurred, the President, Department of Defense and Congress continue to strategize and evaluate the success of our effort to destroy the global terrorist network.

Today's ceremony has reinforced the pride and admiration I have for the brave men and women who continue to serve our country with courage, conviction and excellence.  While I recognize the sophistication and power of our military equipment I realize that this operation would not be successful without the level of professionalism exhibited by these men and women.  I thank them for their hard work, determination and patriotism and commend them for their outstanding performance to date.
