In this darkness, I hope that you may glimpse the candles that people all around the world are lighting for you.

When I first heard the news, I was on a boy scout camping trip. My best friend who just got off the phone with his dad told my scoutmaster, who told my dad, who told me. I just thought "It can't be. He's pulling my leg." But then, on the radio, they had a broadcast. I cried. It is hard for me ... but I know it must be harder for you. I just wanted to let you know that they died doing what they love. They died living a dream. They died happy. They died helping the world with new sciences, and International Relationships.

Shirley and Jerry Alon
New York, N.Y.
Our heartfelt condolences on this giant loss to the families and the world.

Stephen Garner
Hutchinson, Kansas

I am very sorry with all of you!

It was great tragedy to both of our nations to lose Columbia heroes. The shuttle program is one of the most important adventures in science history. It should continue with all the right precautions. Please take my warm condolence to the Astronauts families, NASA and USA. God blesses NASA and god blesses America.

Debbie Ricca
Stuart, Fla.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your children as you so bravely mourn for your loss. Your husband, wife, mother, father, son and daughter are heroes to all of us, but so are you. May God bless all of you and hold you tight as you grieve. You are in my prayers.

Sherry Peel

Lubbock and Texas Tech will never forget their sons, Willie and Rick, who lived their lives with great courage, honor, and faith. Guns Up Forever, Rick.

I would like to say for the families and friends, who we need to believe that only God can minimize this pain. We need to believe that all had helped the humanity and now are with God.
