Version 3, ATLAS-2 Sunset Results

Please read the "Outstanding Issues" page before using the data.

Key:

Occulation: Identifier for the occultation: sl3, at1, at2, at3 refer to mission, sr or ss refer to sunrise or sunset occultation.

Filter: Optical filter used by instrument:

1: 600 - 1200 /cm
2: 1100 - 2000 /cm
3: 1580 - 3400 /cm
4: 3100 - 4600 /cm
9: 600 - 2450 /cm
12: 600 - 1400 /cm

YYDOY is the date of the occultation in year+day of year (i.e. Feb 1, 1994 would be 94032)

UT is Universal time (in seconds) at Lowest Alt

Long. is longitude (deg.) at Lowest Alt

Lat. is latitude (deg.) at Lowest Alt

Lowest Alt is the lowest altitude retrieved for the occultation (km)

Fixed field files:
A-FF: Altitude gridding
P-FF: Pressure gridding
PT-FF: Potential temperature gridding

Tab-delimited files:
A-TD: Altitude gridding
P-TD: Pressure gridding
PT-TD: Potential temperature gridding

Retrieval files are Unix-formatted text and gzip-compressed (.gz files).

Combined spectra and runlog files are gzip-compressed netCDF files (.nc.gz files)

Files are also available by anonymous FTP to thunder.jpl.nasa.gov under the directory /atmos/version3 for the retrievals and /atmos1/ for the spectra.

Please make sure that your browser or FTP client can download raw binary files.

Note that errors estimates are only for combined signal-to-noise and fitting uncertainty. They do not include pointing and temperature error.
