Subject: BMPRAC I used WinHSPF to add a BMP to one of the subbasins in my model, which simulates three generalized water quality constitutes. During WinHSPF BMPRAC setup, I did not enter any removal efficiency values for any available pollutant species (e.g., PO4, NO3) because my model does not actually simulate them. The strange thing is that after I run the model with all these zero removal efficency valules, the results still show load reductions to all of my three generalized quality constitutes! Does anyone know what the BMPRAC module did that caused the load reductions?=20 Also, later I edited the BMPRAC block in a text editor to enter removal efficiency values for the three general quality constitutes that my model acutally simulates. It worked to reduce loadings from the subbasin. However, the reductions were smaller than those when all removal rates were set at zero (as I explained in the above paragraph). Any explanations? Thanks! Hello Sam, Without too much detail, UTM coordinates are meters east (X coordinate) and north (Y coordinate) of a reference point. So when you select where you want the new wells to be you just use a little geometry and arithmetic to determine the new coordinates. If you use, or know someone with access to, ArcGIS you can let the computer do the math. I hope this helps. Regards, Daniel L. The xy location of the wells are given in NAD83utm. I would like to add more wells for the computer to model. These additional wells will be 50ft each away from the actual well. I am not sure how to do this. Below is an example of the coordinates I am using. Any help explaining this process would be appreciated. Debabrata, It looks like some of the DSNs (numbers) specified in your uci file in the EXT SOURCES and/or EXT TARGETS blocks do not correspond with the DSNs for those same quantities in your wdm file. Take a look at these sections of your uci file (in a text editor), and use WdmUtil to see what the DSNs are in the wdm file. It might be easiest to renumber the entries in your uci so that they match the DSNs in your wdm. Hi,

I am getting strange output for flow. I am running HSPF for fifteen year and  flow output at  outlet is not responding  properly. I mean does not shows any peak. It is just constantly increasing over time. Anyone have anytype of suggestion what could be the problem?

Thanks in advance.

For example, there is a single outlet that is producing three side by side subbasins on a single stream channel (one long, narrow subbasin runs along the stream channel, with two large subbasins attached to either side like a pair of elephant ears). I have used this exact same set of data in Basins 3.1, as well as in ArcHydro, and have never gotten these results. So I have two questions: Is there a new update to the delineation tool for Basins 4? In a previous listserve email someone asked about being able to delete automatically created outlets so as to merge unnecessary subbasins. I downloaded the "un-tested" plugin that was mentioned in that thread, but it locks up when it gets to the merging process and it causes the program to be "not responding". Also, I would like to go back to using Basins 3.1, but I can't find the download for it on the EPA website. The update #8 and the data sets are all there, but I can't seem to find the actual Basins program. Does anyone have any suggestions or know where I can find it? Hello Friends,

According to HSPF user manual, if  A  value  of 1  for AUX1FG, AUX2FG and AUX3FG  means subroutine  AUXIL will  be called to compute depth, stage, surface area, average depth, and  topwidth,  and  values  for  these parameters  will  be reported  in the  printout.    A value  of  0 supresses  the calculation and printout of this information. So if these value 0 either 1 can make effect in simulated flow results or those flag only for printout purpose only.

Does anyone have idea? please let me know.

Thanks.

These flags only affect the printout of those auxiliary variables, and have no impact on the actual flow simulation.

I am trying to generate water balance report through GenScn. I follow the same step as given in BASINS/HSPF exercise # 5. According this exercise after selecting waterbalance script and providing current scenario  and Input directory  a "Variable" window pop up and it should closed also. But in my case "varibale" window does not close and another window  pop up called"........WaterBalnace.txt"  without any data and it stop this stage. Looks to me script run is not complete. Why? no idea. can anyone have used in past experined this.

Here is the script run progress under"Variable" window.
