Abstract: The GIS Division, of the Denton County Government, creates easy-to-read visual displays that depict political and municipal boundaries, emergency service districts, road improvement projects, FEMA floodplain, fresh water districts, transportation networks, voter precincts, oil and gas wells and other publicly available data.
Purpose: The G.I.S. Division serves as a clearinghouse of information for Denton County. Other County departments and the public can use G.I.S. resources to assist in evaluating current issues, such as economic development, public health and safety, and environmental quality.
