Follow-up: What Do You Drive, and Why?

I have a Toyota Solara, it was given to me as a Christmas present a few years ago. I love my car because it is comfortable and it is gas efficient, rounding off at about 30 mpg. I believe those should be the main reasons for buying a car these days.
Going through and collecting the stats from the June 16th Question of the Week, “What do you drive, and why?” I came up with the following. Most of the bloggers drive a midsize/sedan type of vehicle, almost half of the people that responded drive either SUVs and trucks, and a handful of people like to throw on their leather jackets and let the wind hit their face when they jump on their motorcycles, a very fuel efficient vehicle!
Most of the bloggers responded that they drive what they drive because it is gas efficient. While some people said their vehicles suit there personnel needs, such as picking up the kids or loading luggage. I was surprised to see that a handful of bloggers said they picked their vehicle because they don’t have to spend as much on maintenance, while others chose their vehicle because it is comfortable and it is what they can afford.

GAS,GAS,GAS, I THINK I HAVE GAS!!! SAVING GAS IS GREAT,IM NOT RICH . BUT I DRIVE MY SUV,, BECAUSE OF HUNDERDS OF DEER, THAT DART IN FRONT OF ME HERE IN IOWA ,HAVE YOU EVER SEEN A COMPACT CAR HIT BY A DEER ??? NOT GOOD >”{+* IF YOU LIVE THROUGH IT YOUR LUCKY. SO I ASK YOU WHAT IS YOUR WIFES & KIDS LIFE WORTH,, COMPACTS ARE GREAT IN TOWNS, IM FOR GREEN . BUT LETS BE REAL !!!!!!!! THE DEER SLAYER,,, MAC

I drive a 2000 Toyota Corolla for the decent gas mileage, comfort, and quality. I have yet to have any major maintenance problems with it, and hope to drive it into the ground.

I drive a 2003 Toyota Prius which I bought used in January of 2009. With limited public transit in my small midwestern city, the Prius offered the best fuel economy (average 47 mpg for the past 8,000 mi). The reason I purchased the Prius: my thought is that the market may have small blips of up and down, but ultimately fuel prices are only going to go up. I purchased the Prius used because I want an all-electric or plug-in hybrid. The used Prius didn’t saddle me with sticker shock and enables me to save up for a more ideal car which should come online in 2-3 years.

I think its dumb that gas is over .99 WE SHOULD NEVER HAVE TO PAY MORE THAN A DOLLOR FOR IT!!! I drive a 1971 Ford F-250 with a 390ci V8 and a 1150cfm Holly carb.. I run 400+hp and happy to burn tires down the highway! Gas should go down not up! If you read your Bible the world is going to end someday, so why not use what we have and enjoy it?! Sorry but I don’t think THE PEOPLE are going to let the GOVERNMENT go on and on.
Sorry but no hybrid truck is going to haul 2-5,000 lbs of stuff and go out 4×4ing, then run around town and up the highway on cell.

I think that we should get rid of car’s that run on gas because lots of pollution comes from them.The best thing to get would be a fuel cell car because no pollution comes out of them.I have a 1993 mercedes-benz small car and it get’s like 25 miles a gallon

I drive a Jeep Liberty. It gets OK mileage, not the best. It’s comfortable, and I’ve never had a minute’s trouble with it. It’s easy to drive, easy to maneuver.

I drive a Mustang GT with 300 horsepower. Everytime the EPA promotes another stupid rule, I floor it on the way to work, on purpose.
After 30 years of driving four cylinder wheezing death traps and getting no credit for it and after repeatedly having the government trying to force me into smaller and smaller cars I said the heck with it.
I decided to buy this car because if Hillary or Obam gets elected they will probably ban v 8 engines for average citizens so this is probably my last chance to own one.
That said, I get fantastic gas mileage for a car of this power…28 mpg last week.
