PRESENT POSITION:

Raytheon ITSS/NASA Goddard Space Center, Principal Scientist

RESEARCH AREA EXPERIENCE:

Geophysicist with 20 years of experience in geomagnetism supported by a background in computational physics and math, and general scientific data analysis.

CURRENT ACTIVITIES:

Works on-site within Goddard Space Flight Center's Laboratory for Terrestrial Physics, primarily in geophysical applications of satellite magnetic surveys, with special emphasis on studies of Magsat and Oersted data and Martian magnetic data.

Created a new MagSat dataset that should be useful to the broad geomagnetic community involved in modeling and analysis satellite magnetic data. The figure shows the residuals after subtracting modeled magnetic fields from the observed data.

Participated in setting up a mirror site for the Oersted holdings and other satellites magnetic data. This mirror site is accessible via FTP at snooks.gsfc.nasa.gov

Works with Oersted Data which are used to analyze the characteristics of ionospheric field and field aligned currents.

A serpentinite model based on the rockmag study of terrestrial serpentinites has been used to explain of Martian magnetic anomalies discovered by the Mars global surveyor Spacecraft .
