Cheers, Shelley Health Literacy: A Consumer Perspective Online Community Discussion October 13-14, 2004 Health literacy activities most often involve service providers working to make health information and services more accessible for consumers. To mark International Health Literacy Month, we ask consumers what they need to make information and services easier to access. This event is of interest to both consumers and service providers. Please post this notice and encourage friends and colleagues to participate. Join us anytime on Wednesday and Thursday October 13-14 for an asynchronous discussion (similar to a bulletin board)--read and respond to notes posted by other Health Literacy Network (HLN) members over the two days. Participation is free! At the end of the discussion (midnight October 14th) posts will be summarized and published as an HLN Tip Sheet. If you are not a member of the Health Literacy Network online community, visit http://www.communityzero.com/hln to join or send an email to wdi@bccpd.bc.ca and ask to join HLN. Membership is free! Note: If you are a consumer without access to the Internet and would like to offer your ideas, please call Shelley at 604-875-0188 or fax your comments to 604-875-9227. This is a chance to let service providers hear your suggestions and concerns.
