Omaha Resident Sentenced To Six Years For Conspiracy To Distribute Methamphetamine

Des Moines, IA- On October 10, 2008, in the Federal Courthouse in Des Moines, Iowa, United States Chief District Judge Robert Pratt sentenced 28 year old Rigoberto Serrano-Luna to a term of 72 months in prison, announced U.S. Attorney Matthew G. Whitaker. In addition, Serrano-Luna was also ordered to serve five years on Supervised Release after his release from prison, and ordered to pay $100 to the Crime Victim Fund.


Serrano-Luna had entered a guilty plea on May 8, 2008 to Conspiring to Distribute over five hundred grams of methamphetamine. Serrano-Luna and his co-defendant Brenda Harmon worked together to distribute methamphetamine from a source in Omaha, Nebraska to individuals in Western Iowa.


Rigoberto Serrano-Luna’s co-defendant was sentenced on May 30, 2008 to 84 months in prison.


The investigation was conducted by the SWINE Task Force, Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.
