LOCATION - Lat 39°25'45", long 120°34'04", in SE 1/4 NE 1/4 sec.13, T.18 N., R.12 E., Nevada County,
Hydrologic Unit 18020125, Tahoe National Forest, near right bank end of Faucherie Dam, on Canyon
Creek, 8.5 mi north of Cisco.
DRAINAGE AREA - 8.97 mi".
PERIOD OF RECORD - October 1986 to current year. Unpublished records for water years 1965.86 available
in files of the U.S. Geological Survey.
GAGE - Water-stage recorder installed Dec. 8, 1999. Records prior to Dec. 8 are instantaneous values.
Datum of gage is sea level (levels by Nevada Irrigation District).
REMARKS - Reservoir is formed on natural lake by earth-filled dam initially constructed prior to 1880
and enlarged in 1964. Usable capacity, 3,740 acre-ft between elevations 6,090.00 ft, invert of outlet
gate, and 6,123.00 ft, crest of spillway. Dead storage, below elevation 6,090 ft, 240 acre-ft. Figures
given represent total contents. Released water is used for hydroelectric power and irrigation
downstream. See schematic diagram of North Yuba River Basin.
COOPERATION - Records were collected by Nevada Irrigation District, under general supervision of the
U.S. Geological Survey, in connection with a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission project.
