Abstract	This paper discusses the beneficial effects of combined well casing protection and corrosion logging survey schemes to ensure and maximise reliability and safety in oil production operations from offshore wells. Execution and interpretation techniques of some sophisticated corrosion logging tools are explained along with their application purposes. The optimum cathodic protection criteria and inhibitor treatment methodology are formulated in view of the field test results. The indigenous efforts in this respect are also discussed.
