WEEKLY MEETING MINUTES May 11- 17 1. Announcements ----------------- None. 2. Operations Constraints ------------------------- * DSN Schedule: Nothing unusual of note with DSN schedule. On Tuesday May 12, we will delay the SSR dump until the end of the pass in order to provide MDI high rate data for JOP072 and JOP059. The SSR dump will start at ~ 22:30 UT on Tuesday. Teams present agreed to SSR dump delay. * Submodes: Monday 00:00 UT -- Monday 16:00 UT --> Submode 6 Monday 16:00 UT -- Friday 20:00 UT --> Submode 5 Friday 20:00 UT -- Sunday 20:00 UT --> Submode 4 Sunday 20:00 UT -- Sunday 24:00 UT --> Submode 6 3. Planners for Week 20: SOL - Robert Walsh TRACE - Karel Schrijver CDS - Robert Walsh SUMER - Hardi Peter (MEDOC) UVCS - Shadia Habbal peter@sirius.medoc-ias.u-psud.fr MDI - Craig DeForest EIT - Frederic Clette/David Berghmans LASCO - Mike Andrews Relevant Notes: --------------- JOP072: * TRACE will support with 90 minutes of observations (length determined by telemetry/buffer restrictions). * On days when we are in Submode #5, SUMER will use 120'' slit. On Saturday and Sunday when we are in Submode #4, SUMER will use a 300'' slit. * MDI will support with square extract 700 x 700 pix. 420" x 420" MDI would like to know if this JOP is not going to be run on any of the scheduled days however, since there are other types of observations MDI could do instead. * CDS will contact SUMER to see if they are supposed to support this JOP every day. South Pole Campaign: * CDS will support with long exposures, 4x4 rasters, below distance of 4' out from limb. * LASCO has designed a subfield for this which includes part of the occulting disk. Will observe at 2.2 to 2.4 Rsun off the limb doing FeX online and offline images. This will result in about 10 online images/hour. This will only slow down the EIT CME watch slightly (16 minute cadence rather 15 minutes). * TRACE plans "fan sequence" images branching out to about 2 solar radii. Images close to the South pole will overlap around the central meridian and images moving away from the pole will be spaced farther apart. Exact coordinates for these pointings will be decided by 2 p.m. today. * MDI plans full disk magnetograms and full disk continuum images to support this campaign. JOP059: Will not run on Monday, May 11. Times for JOP059 will not be finalized until CDS support requirements for JOP072 are finalized. JOP080: EIT will be observing in "shutterless mode" from 17:30-18:30 UT only due to instrument constraints. They encourage other teams to observe longer for this JOP. The target will be a non-flaring AR.
