 Celebrating Ramadan in America

Young Muslim women perform the maghrib prayer

Young Muslim women perform the maghrib prayer, the prayer performed daily by practicing Muslims at sunset, at the Council on American-Islamic Relations' (CAIR) iftar on Capitol Hill for members of the U.S. Congress and their staffs on September 26, 2006. The annual event allows Muslim leaders, congressional aides and elected officials to discuss issues of mutual concern and develop a greater understanding of Islam and the American Muslim community.
