High Density XBT Lines File Selection

NOTE: Table entries allow you to download maps showing where the sections are, inventory table files in the comma separated-value (csv) format, the data files (as compressed files in the "tgz" ("tarred" and "gzipped") format or displays of the sampling of the data in time on each section by clicking on the link in the appropriate column. If you have difficulities reading the data files on the disk using a web browser, we suggest you copy the data files directly from the location on the disk to your disk and use the utility software to uncompress the data files.

The High Density XBT line data are divided into oceans and then by line number. All of the stations for a line are compressed into a tar and gzip file and can be accessed by clinking on the line number. Each line also has its own index file (inventory table) that lists the path and the file names of all netCDF files, the stations with observations in that quarter giving the sampling date (year, month, and day), location (latitude and longitude, negative numbers are for southern latitudes and western longitudes), and data min/maxes. Fields with missing min/maxes indicate the data quality are probably bad or bad.
