File types

Each of the following directories contains one paper. The files in the directories have the following extensions:

.pdf

Portable Document Format file.

.dvi

A hyperdvi file. A hyperdvi file is a dvi file with embedded specials which give it hypertext capabilties. You can safely ignore the error messages about unknown specials starting with html: if you process it by a non hypertex-aware dvi post-processor.

If you want to know more about hypertex, look at the description on xxx.lanl.gov

.tar

Tarred sources. This server sends this file with a mime-type of application/x-eprint-tar. For automatic unpacking script, look on xxx.lanl.gov

.ps

postscript file.

A .gz suffix means the file is compressed with gnu gzip.

On unpacking the tarred sources, you may expect to find the following kinds of files:

.tex
TeX or LaTeX file.
.ax
axis or xyplot file.
.eps
encapsulated postscript file.
.fig
xfig file.

You have to process the paper.tex file.
