Sportman’s Beach Campground at Walker Lake to be Temporarily Closed in October

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Carson City Field Office, will be closing the Sportman’s Beach Campground on the west shore of Mineral County’s Walker Lake during portions of October to complete a road paving contract.

Sportsman's Beach Campground will be closed on October 10 through 15 so that the contractor can pulverize and remove the old asphalt roadbed, place new base material, and make preparations for laying down asphalt.

Actual paving will be conducted (weather-permitting) on October 18-19.
