May 30, 2007 - United States Attorney Patrick L. Meehan and Montgomery County District Attorney Bruce L. Castor, Jr. today announced the filing of a one-count indictment* charging Kenneth Gateward with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. The indictment alleges that on May 2nd, 2006, Gateward, a convicted felon. was in possession of a .25 caliber Raven Arms semi-automatic, serial number 1145924, loaded with four rounds.

This indictment is part of Project Safe Neighborhoods, an initiative by the United States Attorney’s Office, Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, Borough of Norristown Police Department, and The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco & Firearms, to identify and prosecute firearms offenders in federal court, where the defendants are likely to receive a substantial sentence upon conviction. If convicted the defendant faces a mandatory minimum sentence of fifteen years imprisonment, a $250,000 fine, and a $100 special assessment.
