Farmers convert highly erodible cropland to vegetative cover and receive an annual rental payment for term of the multi-year contract. Cost sharing is provided to establish the vegetative cover practices.
USDA NRCS Emergency Watershed Protection Program NRCS - Albuquerque or local USDA Service Center 6200 Jefferson St. NE Albuquerque, NM 87109 505/761-4400 or local USDA Service Center Designed to reduce threats to life and property in the wake of natural disasters. It provides technical and cost sharing assistance. Assistance includes removing and establishing vegetative cover, gully control, installing streambank protection devices, removing debris and sediment, and stabilizing levees, channels, and gullies.
USDA NRCS Small Watershed Program NRCS - Albuquerque or local USDA Service Center 6200 Jefferson St. NE Albuquerque, NM 87109 505/761-4400 or local USDA Service Center Works through local government sponsors and helps participants solve natural resource and economic problems on a watershed basis. Projects include watershed protection flood prevention, erosion and sediment control, water quality, wetlands creation and restoration in watersheds of 250,000 or fewer acres. Both technical and financial assistance are available.

USDA Forest Service Forestry Incentives Program County offices of USFS, USDA-NRCS, state forestry and resources conservation offices. Supports good forest management practices on privately owned, nonindustrial forest lands nationwide. future demands for wood products. FIP is available in counties designated by a Forest Service survey of eligible private timber acreage.
USDA Forest Service Stewardship Incentive Program County offices of USFS, USDA-NRCS, state forestry and resources conservation offices.   Provides technical and financial assistance to encourage nonindustrial private forest landowners to keep lands and natural resources productive and healthy. Eligible landowners must have an approved Forest Stewardship Plan and own 1,000 or fewer acres of qualifying land.

Contamination may have resulted from accidental, deliberate or natural events including flooding. The studies under this program are cost-shared on a 50% federal - 50% nonfederal basis. The studies must be requested by a viable sponsor; the Corps will accommodate as many studies as possible within the funding allotment. Typical studies include wetland evaluations, flood plain management studies, water supply, and flood damage reduction studies.
